Our Vision for Science at Headcorn Primary School...
At Headcorn, our aim is to cultivate an inquisitive nature in our pupils. A vital part of life, Science influences the children’s past, present and future. It helps them understand the universe, challenge the thinking of others and raise questions about the world around them. Our Science curriculum follows the Pzaz scheme, outlining knowledge and skills, with clear progression across year groups. Heavily practical, children explore concepts through doing, to build on knowledge from prior year groups and address common misconceptions. In addition,
the children are encouraged to apply their ‘Working Scientifically’ skills in the classroom to
prepare them for the wider world.
