Computing
“Computers are incredibly fast, accurate, and stupid. Human beings are incredibly slow, inaccurate, and brilliant. Together they are powerful beyond imagination.” Albert Einstein
Our Vision for Computing at Headcorn Primary School...
At Headcorn Primary School, we understand that Computing has become firmly entrenched in many aspects of everyday life. We believe that it is essential that all pupils gain the confidence and abilities that they need in Computing, and its strands of learning, which in turn will help to prepare them for the challenge of a rapidly developing and changing technological world.
We utilise the Switched on Computing scheme of work, along with other high-quality resources, to teach a rich and varied curriculum. This includes Computer Science, Information Technology, and Digital Citizenship. The children benefit from regular lessons using a variety of technology which include tablet and laptop devices. We use a variety of age-appropriate apps, programs, and physical computing devices to impart the curriculum.
