We are currently partnering with the ‘Thousand Hours’ Team based in Ashford on their Kindness Revolution which encourages all of our school community to do something unexpected to help, support and cheer up someone else. As part of this we really want to be able to bless our wider community.
Some ideas that the children have had are ‘Say it with cake’, litter picking, posting Thank You cards, sing-a-longs with the community, etc. The children are focussing on four particular ways in which they can be kind: Family Kindness, Community Kindness, School Kindness and Ninja Kindness.
The new initiative this year is Ninja Kindness which is where the pupils do something kind but anonymously. This is teaching them all about how we don’t always have to get recognition or a thank you to be kind. Please encourage your child to keep a record of the hours of kindness they are logging over the month of October.
Next week we will be sending home their Ninja Kindness Half Term Challenge. It would be lovely for them to share what they have been up to in making someone else's day a bit brighter!
