Headcorn Primary School provides a cross-curricular and creative approach in which the National Curriculum is delivered and children learn through “experiences” throughout the year. Each one will be primarily based on one or two subjects of the National Curriculum, with links to the other subjects, where appropriate. Mathematics is taught as a discrete subject. In addition, children have weekly timetabled lessons in PE and Computing.
An experience aims to give connected, meaningful learning that covers statutory requirements. It motivates children and teachers to enjoy the learning and give a greater depth of understanding.
